Code of Conduct Training
INTRODUCTION
The Employee Code of Conduct establishes expectations for all employees of Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, including administrators, faculty, staff, and student employees, whether full or part-time, temporary or unlimited. It draws together commonly used employment-related policies and procedures, including ethics, nondiscrimination, fraud and other dishonest conduct, and more.
Each of our colleges and universities, as well as the Office of the Chancellor, is responsible for ensuring compliance by its employees with the Employee Code of Conduct.
The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Employee Code of Conduct was adopted as a system procedure effective July 1, 2008 and is posted online at: http://www.mnscu.edu/board/procedure/1c0p1.html.
E-LEARNING MODULES
To assist in educating employees about the Code of Conduct, training has been developed in an e-learning format, which will be made available to each campus in D2L in October 2008.
Learning Objectives:
The purpose of the Employee Code of Conduct e-learning modules is to:
- Raise awareness about the code
- Highlight the need for good stewardship of the system’s resources
- Educate employees about their responsibilities with regards to ethics and other laws, board policies, and system procedures
Expected Outcomes of the Training:
- Reduce the risk of ethical violations within our colleges and universities
- Increase accountability by tracking and documenting employee completion of code of conduct training
