Health Insurance
If you are eligible for a full employer contribution and do not choose both a health plan administrator and a primary care clinic by the initial effective date, they will chosen for you. You will be enrolled in a Benefit Level One (if available) or Two clinic in the county where you live.
If you wish to enroll your eligible dependents in health insurance, you must do so within 35 days of your hire date. Current employees moving into a benefit-eligible position must enroll dependents within 30 days. If you do not enroll dependents during these time frames, you will be enrolled in single coverage. Otherwise, you may not enroll your dependents except during an open enrollment period or under certain conditions. These conditions are detailed in your union contract and in the DOER benefits booklet.
