Paid Time Off
Each union contract indicates how sick leave can be used. Full-time unlimited employees in AFSCME, MAPE, MMA, Commissioner's Plan, Managerial Plan, MGEC, and MNA contracts earn 4 hours of sick leave each full 80 hours pay period. Sick leave is pro-rated for part-time employees based on the provisions of your union contract. Intermittent appointments begin accruing sick leave on a pro-rated basis after completion of 67 days of employment.
MSCF, IFO, MSUAASF, and the Administrator Plan vary based on the union contract.
Vacation/Personal Leave is based on years of state service. For employees in AFSCME, MAPE, MMA, Commissioner’s Plan, Managerial Plan, MGEC, and MNA, leave is pro-rated for eligible part-time employees. Intermittent appointments accrue on a pro-rated basis after completion of 67 days of employment.
Vacation/Personal Leave varies for MSCF, IFO, MSUAASF and the Administrator Plan.
