Performance Appraisals
When done effectively, the performance appraisal plays an important and positive role in the performance management process. It serves as a reinforcement of strengths and development needs, while also providing a formal opportunity for open dialogue between supervisors and employees. Performance appraisals need to occur at least annually, and generally consist of a discussion about position description, expectations, performance quality, and an individual development plan. For specific requirements, see your union contract and talk with your supervisor.
