Safety & Security
Personal Security
Each Minnesota State Colleges and Universities campus has a Public Safety/Security department that is committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment. Contact your campus office with questions about personal security, public safety, or other concerns.
Here are some general safety reminders:
- Do not leave personal property unattended
- Always lock your door whenever you leave your office
- Do not leave valuables in plain sight
- If you are concerned about your personal safety, call for an escort
- Have your keys ready when going to your car
- Walk in pairs
Safe Working Environment
It is a primary goal of Minnesota State Colleges and Universities to provide you with a safe working environment. Contact your supervisor for information about specific safety training and procedures related to your position, especially if you use any potentially dangerous or hazardous material or equipment.
Every employee who is potentially exposed to unsafe materials or conditions is required to complete initial and annual Employee Right–to–Know video training. The following is a link to the 15 minute training video: www.hr.mnscu.edu/new_employee/ertk/ertk.html
