Weather/Short Term Emergency Closings

Purpose: To clarify procedures for cancellation of classes and campus closure due to weather or other emergencies

Affected Campuses: All system Colleges and Universities

Responsibility for Implementation: It is the responsibility of the college president, in concert with the human resources director, to assure that the requirements and provisions of this policy are met.

4.4 Weather/Short Term Emergency Closings

Clarifications:

1. The Governor has emergency powers to issue an executive order to change the work schedule or adjust the leave rules of all executive branch employees in cases of natural disasters or other emergencies (M.S. Section 12.21). This would include MnSCU employees.

2. In the event of campus closure, please notify the MnSCU Public Affairs Office at 651-297-2720.
