| Summary: Most employees are eligible for some insurance benefits (health, dental, life or other optional coverage) under their applicable union contract or salary plan. There are also some categories of employment that are never eligible for any kind of insurance benefits, and these are detailed in the General Overview listed below. College and university HR Offices are responsible for determining eligibility for coverage, the level of employer contribution for each eligible employee, the correct entry of employee insurance eligibility coding into SCUPPS and SEMA4, and the correct coding of campus contributions toward insurance coverage for each employee assignment. All employees who are eligible to participate in the group insurance plan must be coded accordingly; employees may decline coverage during the enrollment process. |
