Executive Development for Senior Leaders
Using an individualized approach, this program combines the use of a 360 feedback tool, selected assessments, and coaching to support executives’ individual development plans. The 360 feedback tool is based upon Minnesota State Colleges and Universities’ leadership competencies.
During FY11, this program will be piloted with small groups of 4-5 executives at a time. When joining a pilot cohort, executives are invited to:
1. Select an executive coach see: coach biographies
2. Complete the Executive Development Intake Form and submit it to the selected coach
3. Schedule a meeting with your selected coach. During this meeting, your coach will outline the 360 process and will help you:
- Determine the observers (Supervisor, Peers, Direct Reports, Community Representatives) for the Executive Development 360°
- Identify what additional assessments are appropriate
- Decide on a time line for taking the assessments
4. Take the Executive Development 360 and other assessments as agreed
5. Schedule a feedback session with your coach* (90 – 120 minutes)
6. Create or add to your existing Individual Development Plan (IDP). This can be added within the online Executive Evaluation IDP if desired.
In contracting additional sessions, you will want to determine the approximate number of coaching sessions and decide on a comfortable schedule to work your plan. Executive coaching is generally done over a 9 -12 month period. You can plan on approximately two coaching sessions per month. This executive coaching is priced at $250 per hour (face time plus prep).
To evaluate progress, coaches will include formative and summative evaluations into their work with you. Formative evaluations will take place at least every 90 days and will focus on the following questions:
1) Are you making progress?
2) Are you satisfied with your progress?
Summative evaluations will take place at the conclusion of the coaching relationship and will focus on the following questions:
Result – What did you achieve?
Process – Were you satisfied with the process?
People – Was the coaching relationship productive?
